Blaavand is situated by Ho Bay which is the norhern  part the Wadden Sea.
Summer species include: Red-necked Grebe, White Stork, Bittern, Garganey, Marsh and Montagu's Harriers, Kentish Plover, Black-tailed Godwit, Ruff, Avocet, Sandwich, Gull-billed and Black Terns, Grasshopper and Savi's Warblers. AUTUMN Brent and Pink-footed Geese, ducks, Merlin, waders, Shore Lark, pipits, thrushes, finches, Lapland Bunting.
